Grandstream HT801/802 setup and troubleshooting instructions

Configuring your HT801/802 device

  1. Connect your device to power, phone and network.
  2. The device will boot-up and light up the power and network icon.
  3. Dial *** on your phone and the Automated Voice will ask to enter a menu option. Press * and the system will reply with "Dynamic IP Mode", press * again and the system will give you the device's IP address. Write the IP Address down.
  4. Open an web browser on your computer or tablet and in the address bar enter the IP Address you got in step 3.
  5. You will be prompted with the device login. Enter the password of admin to login.
    *If admin does not work try 13579*

  6. Once logged in click on "Advanced Settings"
  7. Locate the section "Config Server Path", delete the the default value and enter in the following.
    For the 801 config.nuvio.com/grandstream/ht801/
    For the 802 config.nuvio.com/grandstream/ht802/
  8. Click apply then click reboot. The device will reboot and download the configuration file.
  9. Once the device is rebooted it will show 3 lights showing that the phone is registered. At this time you can pick up the phone and make a call.

Troubleshooting your HT801/802 device

  • Make sure your device is connected to the internet, power, and your phone.
  • Reboot your modem, router, and device.
  • Try dialing both 7 digit and 10 digit numbers.

Factory resetting your HT801/802 device

  1. Make sure your device is connected to power, phone and network.

  3. Open an web browser on your computer or tablet and in the address bar enter the IP Address you got in step 3.
  4. You will be prompted with the device login. Enter the password of 13579 to login.
  5. Click on Basic Settings and then scroll to the bottom and select full reset from the reset list. Click Reset.
  6. Follow the instruction at the top for setting up your device.
